Juan Francisco Casas è un artista spagnolo che realizza tele di grandi dimensioni in cui riproduce fotografie e ritratti utilizzando solo penne a sfera.
Con tecnica fotorealista, Casas ricrea fotografie amatoriali di momenti trasgressivi, sfrontati e quasi pulp, che sembrano usciti da un set di Terry Richardson. Erotismo esplicito condito da una dose di autoironia che ne mitiga i tratti. Docce fredde, lenzuola bagnate e big boobs.
Ore di lavoro prestate ad istantanee scattate in una frazione di secondo.
“I guess it started off as a joke, to try and make something so realistic that people would think is a photo. For me it’s not that different from painting. I was trying to show that it doesn’t matter what material you use, it’s what you do with it.”
