FIVE ARTISTS BRINGING SURREALISM AND THE WORLD OF COLLAGE TOGETHER
Published on 12 July 2018
Collage art and its surrealist roots has been changing the art game for decades now, and it’s not giving up any time soon. And where better to express the changing artistic techniques than on Instagram. Evolving from the dadaism of the 20s into the 70s activism, cut ‘n’ paste pics seem to be the art of movements: punks to hippies, surrealists to landscapers, it’s a form that expresses every thought and desire. Feeds jam packed with vibrant cut-outs sounds like a summer dream, so scroll through these five accounts to click follow on now.

STYLE LESSONS TO LEARN FROM JACKIE BROWN

Although one of Tarantino’s lesser known masterpieces, Jackie Brown is arguably the most stylish of all. Featuring the blaxploitation icon and foxy lady that is Pam Grier in the titular role, it follows Jackie on a double agent endeavour with the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Robert De Niro, Bridget Fonda and Robert Forester on the side. Set to either make or break her, it’s a trip unlike her usual stewardess days, with twists and turns that you’d never expect. And along the way there are some damn fine outfits. Full of 90s classics like twin suits and daisy dukes, there’s block colour galore and some killer accessories to boot. Strutting along in looks even sharper that their comebacks, it’s got some tasty Tarantino tunes to soundtrack: think Bobby Womack, Johnny Cash, The Delfonics and Pam Grier herself. So stick on the playlist and check out our style lessons to learn from Jackie Brown...

Annoucing his follow-up to the 2016 indie-hit Paterson, director Jim Jarmusch is heading back to the realm of the undead for The Dead Don’t Die. Set to be an all-star zombie comedy, the unique filmmaker is teaming up with a set of previous collaborators and some rather famous newbies. Featuring Adam Driver, Bill Murray, Chloë Sevigny, Tilda Swinton, Steve Buscemi, Selena Gomez and Austin Butler, it’s set to be a big hit already.
Apparently filming already, it’s set to debut next year in 2019, and is written as well as directed by Jim Jarmusch. Spotted in police uniforms, it seems Murray, Sevigny and Driver are cops, but little else is known about the plot of the project. Explaining about his role back in March, Murray (who has been an almost-zombie before for Zombieland as pictured above) told Philly.com “I’ve got a good job coming up. Brace yourself: It’s a zombie movie…Jim Jarmusch has written a zombie script that’s so hilarious and it has a cast of great actors … it shoots over the summer. But no, I will not play a zombie.” Whatever it’s going to be, we can’t wait. Stay tuned for more soon.fuck donald trump playlist

PREPARE FOR PROTEST WITH THIS ANTI-TRUMP PLAYLIST
Published on 13 July 2018
London is mobilised to protest the (many, many) ills of President Donald Trump and all that he stands for this afternoon, with thousands taking to the streets in the centre of the city from 2pm.
These protests mark another moment of dedication in the fight against Trump’s fascism, when those looking to fight racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia and elitism can unite against a man who mystifyingly embodies so many of the world’s ills.
And here are some of the best anti-Trump tracks to set the tone for the resistance…
