Brice Marden Joining Gagosian Gallery

The abstract artist Brice Marden has joined the Gagosian gallery after more than 20 years with the dealer Matthew Marks.
“I’ve been working with Matthew for a long time and it’s been very, very good — he’s an incredible dealer — I just felt I needed a change,” said Mr. Marden, 78. “I’m running out of time and I think I’ll be able to use my time better this way.”
Mr. Marden’s work has sold for more than $10 million at auction.
Larry Gagosian said he would feature Mr. Marden’s new monochromatic work in October in his London gallery on Grosvenor Hill.
“I’ve done two celebrated historical shows of Brice,” he said. “He’s been a good friend of mine for many years and I’m excited because he’s one of the greatest living artists.”
Mr. Marks said he had no comment.
