Jean-Michel Tixier’s fantastic illustrations for French mag M Le Monde
Words by Rebecca Fulleylove, Thursday 22 October 2015
It’s been over a year since we last featured snazzy French illustrator Jean-Michel Tixier, and it’s a crying shame because there’s an avalanche of clever work created for famous French mag M Le Monde on his site now. With that Tintin-esque glimmer (much like Janne Iinvoven’s work we recently featured), Jean-Michel manages to eschew the cartoon innocence with aplomb as witty and topical references full of double meaning litter his work. Even if your understanding of French only extends to basic GCSE there’s still enough in the imagery to make you feel like you’re still in on the joke. Cheeky, bold and with a beautiful crispness to each illustration, it’s no wonder why M Le Monde keep asking him to draw for them.
