Postcard Nostalgia

John Hinde Studio, Butlin's Bognor Regis, A Corner of the Beachcomber Bar, Edmund Nagele © John Hinde Collection
"Pictures should always convey a positive, good feeling, something which makes people happy, which makes them smile, which makes them appreciate some tenderness."
- John Hinde
Anyone for a quarantini? If you're sprucing up your home bar or decorating for a staycation, we hope you'll find inspiration in today's image from John Hinde (1916-1997, UK) 'Butlins' series. He became well-known for his thoroughly planned shoots and distinct nostalgic aesthetic that greatly influenced the art of postcard photography. Legend says, that anytime Hinde would encounter an unpleasant object across a landscape he would like to photograph, he brilliantly camouflaged said object with a rhododendron bush quickly chopped from the nearest garden.
Please continue sending us #TPGphotographsforthesoul images. We look forward to hearing from you!

Stay safe and well,
