It shouldn’t come as a surprise that flying around a BMX bike track is risky, but to those who study Olympic sports, that activity tops the list of most dangerous sports, according to a statistical analysis conducted by the online casino website Casinority.

Researchers analyzed recorded athletic injuries from the Summer Olympic Games since Beijing 2008.

While BMX-style biking was first, with 34.4% of athletes suffering injuries, taekwondo was second, football (soccer) third and boxing fifth.

The sport in which athletes were least prone to injuries was canoe slalom, which researchers said saw an “impressively low injury rate of under 5%” between 2012 and 2016.

Canoeing/kayaking and shooting were second and third for lowest injury rates.

A Casinority spokesperson said even athletes who don’t compete on the Olympic level can benefit from “listening to your body and seeking professional guidance,” leading one to “reap the benefits of an active lifestyle without putting yourself at undue risk.”
